It is 180 kilometers away from the Capital Beijing and only takes 50 minutes to travel from Beijing to Zhangjiakou on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway.
An Olympic City
Zhangjiakou has hosted most snow events of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. There are 4 competition venues in Zhangjiakou Competition Zone, where a total of 51 Olympic gold medals happened: Zhangjiakou National Ski Jumping Centre, Zhangjiakou National Cross-Country Skiing Centre, Zhangjiakou National Biathlon Centre, Zhangjiakou Genting Snow Park.
And there are 4 non-competition venues here: Zhangjiakou Olympic/Paralympic Village, Zhangjiakou Mountain Press Centre, Zhangjiakou Mountain Broadcast Centre, and Zhangjiakou Medal Plaza.
