2018 Qingdao International Sailing Week – Qingdao International Marine Festival was held from August 10 to 19 and included nearly 40 cultural and sport activities. According to incomplete statistics, more than one million tourists from all over the world visited Qingdao Olympic Sailing Centre during the event.
In order to further carry out the Olympic spirit and continuously build the city brand of Sailing City, Qingdao International Sailing Week was created in August in 2009 as the heritage of 2008 Qingdao Sailing Competition through drawing the experience of Kiel Week and other famous international festivals. In 2014, the Qingdao International Marine Festival – which was created in 1995 – was included in the Qingdao International Sailing Week.
