Registrations for the the 4th Lausanne Summit which will take place from the 10 to 11 November 2011 in Rio de Janeiro, host of the 2016 Olympic Summer Games, are now open.

The Summit will be focused on Olympic Legacy and the link between sustainable urban development and international sport. The theme of the Summit will be how to ensure the Games result in community and environmentally sustainable legacies.

This year in Rio, participants will have the opportunity to discuss ‘urban legacies’: how the legacy of the Games can be used to contribute to a healthier and better socially integrated population. In addition, as Rio will be hosting the Rio+20 UN Conference next year, the 4th Lausanne Summit will enable UMVO members to consider the direct input their organisation can have in the Rio + 20 conference. Discussions will be focused on how sport, through the Olympic Games, can promote sustainable development.

Attending the Summit offers you a unique opportunity to meet Mayors of former, current and upcoming host cities of the Olympic Games. In addition, the Summit will also be attended by a number of different International Olympic Committee personalities and international sports professionals. Please note that the UMVO General Assembly will also be held during the Summit.
